This is the first year for this fundraiser. Paul White is my dad and I’m Lexie White.
My dad was in a major accident on November 20th 2018 and that’s when everything started. He was hospitalized after a work accident with a massive brain bleed, a brain aneurism and they had found a tumour in his left bronchi. After being released from the hospital, he had a fall at home because he had lost complete feeling in his legs. They had found another tumour in the bottom of his back and sent him in for surgery within 24 hours. Due to the damage from the tumour, doctors told my dad he would never walk or work again and the tumour was sent for biopsy.
The biopsy came back positive for cancer. We found out that the cancer has taken over his bones, his liver, and his lungs and it is stage 4, incurable cancer.
My dad has been a role model for many people and has done a lot of things for people he loves. He’s been the main supporter in our household for his whole life. He is now unable to work and we are being forced to move out of our house because the owners are deciding to sell.
We are holding the fundraiser to raise awareness of Cancer and to help raise a little money to give back to him for everything he has done for my family and his friends. My dad was given a maximum of 3 years to live.
Having this fundraiser means I am able to give a little bit of thanks to him for everything he has done. Anyone you talk to that is around him will say he is a strong individual and would give the shirt off of his back for anyone he cares about. He’s the most kind man I have ever known and he is a loving person. Having the support of the community and all of our friends and family is a huge thing and means a lot.
